CAPTAIN MIDNIGHT 1940s "COLD OVALTINE SHAKE-UP MUG" - RARE - GREAT CONDITION
Embossed on the bottom of this orange plastic cup/mug are the words,  "Manufactured exclusively for Wander Co. Chicago
Makers of Ovaltine."
On the side is an embossed likeness of Captain Midnight encircled with the words, "Captain Midnight's Cold Ovaltine Shake-Up Mug."
The blue plastic lid of the mug contains the admonition to "Remember your SECRET SQUADRON PLEDGE to drink Ovaltine every day, be loyal, be honest."
With the lid on, the mug is approximately 5 inches high, with top diameter of about 3 inches.
It was a premium to promote Ovaltine.  The mug is in very good condition, considering it is about 75 years old. Although we have no information about exactly how old the mug is, a family member remembers using it in the late 1940s after World War II.
