This spot plate can be used for pH tests or qualitative analysis of solutions for precipitate formation.  The glazed surface is resistant to most organic solvents and the white background enhances the visualization of color or solid formation.
The base of the spot plate is unglazed and functions effectively as a streak plate for determination of mineral color.
